The short answer

How Spider-Man got inside Arkham Knight

Nobody merged the two games. Batman: Arkham Knight and Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered run on the same PC at the same time, linked by a mod through one shared block of memory. Spider-Man swings over invisible copies of Gotham's rooftops in his own game, and every frame the mod cuts him out and pastes him into Batman's picture like a sticker.

Is Spider-Man really inside Arkham Knight?

No. He is a cut-out from a second game running in the background, pasted on top of Arkham Knight's picture every frame. Batman is still there the whole time, invisible, so the city keeps loading and the game keeps saving

Did Claude build the mod?

Claude Opus 5.5 co-signed 4 of the 6 commits, and those commits hold 16,071 of the 16,075 lines added. A co-author line doesn't say who typed which line, and a person still ran the games, moved the camera and judged every result

Can I install it myself?

Only from the original repo, in single player, with your saves backed up. It needs exact game versions and two full games running at once. Read the checklist on this page before you let an AI agent set it up

In plain English

How it starts: the first 3 of 10 steps

Each step with the clip from the video that shows it

  1. Nobody merged the two games. Both full games run on the same PC at the same time.

  2. Batman: Arkham Knight is the one on your screen. Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered runs hidden in the background.

  3. Each game loads a fake Windows file (a DLL) from its own folder. It passes every normal call through to Windows, so the game runs as usual, but now the mod runs inside it. The two games pass notes through one shared block of memory, like a mailbox.

Before you install

Before you let an AI agent install a mod like this

  • Use the original repo only. Never a fork, a reupload, or a prebuilt DLL from a video description.
  • Read AGENTS.md and any build script before you tell an agent to follow them. The agent is told to follow that file top to bottom, so a tampered copy could make it run anything.
  • Check what the agent is about to run before you approve each step.
  • Back up your save files first. Arkham autosaves wherever the hidden Batman is, and a save under the map can trap you there.
  • Expect exact version requirements. This mod needs Spider-Man Remastered v4.0630 on Steam, and any game update can break it.
  • Single player only. Don't use mods like this anywhere with anti-cheat.
  • Know the hardware cost: two full AAA games at once. The author used an RTX 3080 with 32 GB of RAM.

What this page is, and isn't

  • Facts are taken from the public repo at commit 17ec697 on 2026-10-03.
  • A Claude co-author line means the commit was made with Claude Code. It doesn't say who typed which line, so it's co-signed by Claude, not written entirely by it.
  • The repo has no license. This page links to the code and doesn't copy it.
  • This page explains how the mod works and doesn't distribute it. Game footage is used in short clips for commentary.
